Located 30 miles south of the Bahamas, the island is one of the many islands from the British Crown Colony that numbers 40 islands. It is the most important of the 40 because it is the government seat for the colony. It has 3,700 residents that enjoy some 350 days of sunshine per year and a mild climate that makes it a perfect year round destination. Its fine beaches, snorkel sites, excellent diving opportunities and the crystal clear water makes it a popular stop.
You will feel quite at ease here as the main language spoken is English and U.S. dollar is the official currency.
The activities both on water and on land abound. The island is interesting to visit and among the attractions you can see the historic down town area of Cockburn Town that hosts a great variety of historic buildings and other places of historic significance like the Columbus' landing site.
