Park City Mountain Resort, UT, US

(about Park City, UT United States, last edited on Dec 18, 2007)

Park City Mountain Resort is a resort like no other, at least from my point of view. It is appreciated for many things but most of all tourists see it as their second home. The cosy atmosphere, the friendly and down-to-earth staff, people who come here regularly makes this resort a place to blend in, find friends and feel like you belong to a big happy family. It will give you the sense that you belong here. This is also the place where you can be alone with your thoughts, a place to find yourself while being on top of the world in a breathtaking setting. It is perfect that you can tear yourself away from your everyday life, from everything just when you feel like it and then return between your friends whenever you want.

It is also a good family destination as everybody of every age can find something to fill up the day with especially that the resort is directly connected to a historic mining town famous for nightlife, fine cuisine, and fabulous shopping.

The resort has 3,300 acres of incredibly varied terrain, where everybody can definitely find runs for their style and level. There are seven peaks, the best terrain parks with innovative jib features and a Mountain Zone with fun runs for all levels. There are continuous improvements made with a focus on quality which have brought about recognising Park City Mountain Resort’s terrain parks as being the best.

To be able to realise this, on your first time here it is better to let the Personal Mountain Planner introduce you to the ways you can explore the mountain to its fullest potential. Of course this will be tailored to your level and the possibilities of free exploration will be pointed out. You will be given a mountain tour and a full introduction to the seven unique Mountain zones. If you want a glimpse of what it is like go to the Virtual Mountain Tours where you’ll see panoramic images of different mountain locations. The fact that you can drop from a breathtaking 3,100 feet over every kind of terrain imaginable is something that warms the heart of an expert skier.

Even if you are an advanced level skier always make an honest assessment of your physical abilities and ski within you own ability. And you have to assume the risk of injuries resulting from the inherent risks of skiing. So pay attention to changing weather, snow, surface or subsurface and ice conditions.

With all this in mind, you can race on the NASTAR Race Course against the clock or your friends.

Of course those who have been here before know all the necessary tips, but for the newcomer it is good to know that dressing up requires specific clothing and the way you dress is quite important to make you feel comfortable and warm. First of all dress in layers to better be able to regulate your body temperature, wear thin socks, mittens for a better heat preservation, goggles, lip balm, sun protection, sunglasses and a hat that also covers your ears.

Another tip is to check upon your health before coming here. Being at an elevation of 7,000 feet above sea level and reaching 10,000 feet at the top, the difference in climate and altitude can produce severe altitude sickness. To prevent this address yourself to the Mountain Patrol that will give you all the information you need to avoid this.

Once set and confident that you know all you need to know to keep you safe, head off to a day full of fun and adrenaline or just choose to wind down in one of the restaurants, listen to entertainment or enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride.

Park City Mountain Resort is where you can live life to the full, a place that's more than a ski resort and once you have experienced it you will surely remember your experience and want to come back.
