Berlin City is the largest city of Germany with 3.4 million inhabitants and an area of 892 square km so the city became the capital of the country. Berlin had the first time the status of the capital in 1871 and this status was maintained until 1945. With the passing of the years when Germany was unified again it became another time the capital of Germany in1990.
In 1989 the inhabitants of the west part of the city demolished the wall that was separating the city into two parts: West Berlin called in German Westberlin and East Berlin wich was appointed by the Germans just Berlin.
The main attractions of this capital are: the Arch of triumph, the Brandenburg Gate, the Gendarmenmarkt Square, the Pergamon Museum, the zoos, the Charlottenburg Palace, the Dahlem Museums, the Egyptian Museum and the collection of papyruses
