First stop at Los Angeles

I have been lazy a bit with my journal in the past, so I'll make a few updates now. We arrived in LA on the 26th and went over straight to the car rental pick up place to get our car. Everything worked seemless. The first thing I had to do was stop at In-n-out Burgers to grab some dinner and headed right over to our hotel.

What a weird place that was, it's called Extended Stay and I guess it's rather for people who go to work in a city and spend a couple of weeks. You got a kitchen and all the usual amenities, but you actually have to pay for room service... so weird, but then I am always on a budget so this was fine:)

The next morning we woke up all tired and drove downtown to grab breakfast at the Pantry Cafe just like we used to back in the days when I was still at SC. The place was packed and we didn't want to wait for an hour to get seated so we decided to have some Dim Sum in China town. Weird as well to anyone from Europe is that you really feel like you're somewhere in Asia:) Check out the picture of this restaurant called "Won Kok"... funny. Well we had all the usual suspects, chicken feet is always fun and yummy.

After our really big breakfast we headed up the 101 to Hollywood to check out the big sign on the mountain as well as the Chinese Theatre and Hollywood Blvd with the stars on the ground. I guess most people really come to see this but then it's kind of boring to me.

We headed down to see my friend down in Manhattan Beach, which is absolutely beautiful. We had a nice long walk by the beach and really enjoyed the typical Southern Californian life style.

The next day we woke up early again and headed out to finally grab breakfast down town. Finally, the old classic bfast at the Pantry Cafe:) We also stopped by USC campus. They have really built a lot of new buildings, but essentially it's the same old beautiful place. I feel nostalgic when I am there and sometimes I think I should have done more while I was there;)

Anyhow, we spent the afternoon over at Venice Beach, which is tremendous, funky, crazy, funny, over the top etc... Check out the pics and they speak for themselves. Take a look at the guy begging, with a sign that says something like "I won't lie, I need weed or beer!". Lol
