The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary

Who doesn't love to watch birds flying all over the place? Hardly there would be only few persons who might not love to see and enjoy the natural avi-fauna life. As the tendency of a human being is to travel all around and meet different people, enjoy the wild and avian life in wildlife sanctuaries, which is above all. When it comes to visiting a bird sanctuary, the camera and enthusiasm of nature lovers knows no boundary. Though there are plenty of bird sanctuaries all over the world but there are only a few which are globally famous and one of them is Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary located in India, which is also known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park.
The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is located just 55 km away from the city Agra, famous for one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Till today, Bharatpur serves as a home to over 230 different avi-fauna species and most of them are endangered or migratory. While touring Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, one gets an easy opportunity to witness various birds which include some rarest of the rarest coming altogether from different region like Siberia, Central Asia, Afghanistan, Europe, China and Tibet.

There are some species of birds, which can be easily spotted throughout the year in this bird sanctuary and some of them are Pipit, Painted Stork, Marsh Harrier, White Ibis, Wagtail and the Warbler. Apart from watching endangered bird species here, wildlife lovers can also witness plenty of wild animal species which include the Hyena, Chital. Hog deer, Sambar, Chinkara, Blackbuck, Wild boar, Wildcat and the Nilgai. Considering the fact that the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is a habitat of rare and endangered species, UNESCO has also given it a World Heritage Site status.

The ideal time to visit this bird sanctuary is between the months of October and February; however, in summers too some species like the Siberian Crane, the Siberian Graylag Goose and the Chinese Bareheaded Goose can be seen here. In addition to this, it is always advised to the tourists to plan their trip accordingly, and check their tour program thoroughly for things like; the exact duration of the trip, the place of accommodation, the vehicle provided by the tour operator as some operators prefer to arrange the trip via luxury buses, whereas, some prefer to arrange exclusive family trip via luxury cars, and places of sightseeing, which also include the Bharatpur bird sanctuary tour.
