Situated on the southern edge of the Spain, the famed and picturesque island, Gibraltar is basically an overseas of the United Kingdom. It is typically positioned at the western entrance of the Mediterranean Sea. The British claimed the island in 1973 and presently it is an international port and hot tourist spot, famous for holidays, short city breaks and as weddings & honeymoon destination. There are many travel agents offering cheap flight to Gibraltar. Book a cheap flight and hotel package for your next holidays in Gibraltar. But before that lets play around the island.
One of the first things you should do during your holidays in Gibraltar is to ride a cable car to the Upper Rock. This ride provides spectacular views all around and is also easier than climbing the steep Mediterranean Steps, which you can take on your way back down.
Once at the Upper Rock, you can stop by the Apes' Den where you can watch over two hundred Barbary Macaques - the only species of wild monkeys in Europe - play and interact with each other. These monkeys are well cared for by the local regiment, particularly since there is a superstition that the British will leave Gibraltar once the monkeys are gone, similar to the belief that Britain will fall when the ravens leave the Tower of London.
Touring and traveling have become so popular that agents mint money by way of booking and arranging trips and weekend breaks in Gibraltar. It is one such place that is offered as a cheap holiday destination with both to and from flights, including hotel charges. Customers are tempted by the travel agents who offer discounts anywhere from five pounds onwards for each online booking of holidays or weekend trips Gibraltar. In fact, people love to come here to do their shopping or for weekends when they want to get away from the chaos of city life.
Other things to look out for are the great siege tunnels, dug by hand in 1781 and taking two years to complete they provided high level defence embrasures giving canon cover over what is now the airport and runway. There is much more to see and do in Gibraltar, I hope you and your family enjoy your trip.
