Copenhagen Luxury Holidays
(from: Sep 27, 2010 to: Sep 27, 2010)
summer vacation in Copenhagen is perfect for sopping up Scandinavian summer sun on extended afternoons, of wandering royal castles and museums. The humid nights are for providing variety to Scandinavian fare and cheerful jazz.
Fun and Fair at Tivoli
Toddler, teenager or any age group, a summertime walk through Tivoli Gardens is an indispensable experience on a Copenhagen summer break. Jump on an old wooden roller coaster, chew candy floss or popcorn and be entertained by the organ grinders, jugglers and jokers. Ancient style buildings, a toy rail and pantomime ballets based on Hans Christian Andersen fables make the day very pleasant. After the sunset musicians and dance troupes enact on stage as bystanders drink glasses of Carlsberg and watch the sun go down towards the horizon.
World-beating haute cuisine
Copenhagen with the time has made a status and reputation as a chief destination for creative cuisine. Throughout the warmer months local Danish fruits and vegetables are produced. In Tivoli, the gardens' two Michelin-famous eating joints, Herman and Restaurant Kokkeriet, battle with creative cooking. Close by is the Michelin-starred Noma, which has been considered by experts among the top 10 restaurants in the world. Sult provides original fusion dishes and brunches. BioMio, in Vesterbro's Kødbyen, offers reasonable organic dishes in stylish surroundings.
Shopping for international brands and local one-offs
In the summer season Copenhagen is perhaps the best place for shopping in Scandinavia as mega sales are on. Extended cobbled ambler footpath is given over completely too edgy designs, hip clothing boutiques and house ware houses. Strøget, the largest pedestrian shopping place in the world has numerous international chains along with Købmagersgade. Further on is Kronsprinsensgade, which holds numerous internationally renowned contemporary Danish designer clothes shops. The streets extending east towards Gothersgade are most excellent for exploring latest and designer labels.
A pint of beer on an outdoor terrace
There is uncountable number of enjoyable places to take pleasure in a pint of Carlsberg smooth pilsner, the town's home brew, or any of Denmark's many other microbrews.
Nighttime music inside and out
Enjoy in the streets of summertime Copenhagen to be romanced by the sounds of road musicians, troubadours, buckers and salsa clubs at every nook and corner of the city. There are many places to hear to music, with beer in hand. La Fontaine, opposite Christianshavn, offers exciting aeshing nighttime jazz and boogie-woogie. Mojo, just round the corner, is the towns best recognized blues joint.
