Beach Tour Destinations in Maharashtra

Maharashtra tourism has its very own special place in the tourism Industry of India. Its capital, Mumbai attracts so many tourists all round the year. Tourists have many places to visit in Maharashtra apart from Mumbai and Maharashtra beaches are one of these places. Maharashtra is on the western coast of India so its coastal line is dotted with many popular beaches. Some of them are as follows:

Murud Janjira Beach Maharashtra
Janjira is an Island located around 160 Km from the Mumbai city. It was capital of Siddis in the 16th century. The island is known for fort Janira which belonged to the Nawab of Janjira. At a short distance there is the town of Murad that has a Dattatraya Temple with the idol representing Brahma, Vishu and Mahesh. Two beautiful beaches of Kashid and Nandgaon can be located near the Garambi Lake that waters the town.

Dahanu Bordi beach Maharashtra
145 Km away from Mumbai, Dahanu is a small town situated in Thane District of Maharashtra. The 17 kms stretch of Dahanu-Bordi is lined with fruit orchards. Famous for a fruit named “Chickoo”, Dahanu also leads Udwada which is an important worshipping place for the Zoroastrians. The fire in the temple is known to have been burning for almost a thousand years.

Ganapatipule beach Maharashtra
Located along the Konkan Coast, Ganapatipule provides a perfect getaway. Pilgrims visit the beach for the temple of Swayambhu (Ganesh). Beside the temple, you will like the clean beach and clear waters. Also rich in flora, the beach goers enjoy relaxing near mangroves and coconut trees. Reached by nearest airport at Kohlapur and could also be reached by Konkan railways and road route of Ganapatipule - Pune.

Mandwa and Kihim beach Maharashtra
Mandwa is a beautiful beach in India, Maharashtra with spectacular beaches. It is only 12 km away from Alibaug and could be easily reached from Mumbai. Plan a Kihim holiday and enjoy the isolation of the place away from the crowded city. The Kolaba Fort is also a tourist attraction of this place. Tourists can also enjoy the Hamam Khana, Buddhist Cavesa church, Portuguese ruins and other places of worshipping.

Tarkarli beach Maharashtra
Long and narrow stretch of the beach with its clear water is the specialty of Tarkali. You can see the sea bed through a depth of 20 ft. Besides that, tourist attractions are not limited to the beach itself but we also have the forts of Singhudurg and Padmagarh fort.

Vengurla Malvan beach Maharashtra
White sands, hills with trees of cashew, coconut, jackfruit and mango groves, town of Vengurla is a must see in Maharashtra. You could also visit the Shri Devi Sateri temple and the Rameshwar Mandir located there. Popular as a trade settlement, it was burnt down twice. This is why a part of the beach is also called as Burnt Islands. Also, there is an old town of Malvan, with two forts, viz., Padmagad and Sindhudurg. If you are looking nice Konkan food, do come to Malvan.
