Ah, beautiful Hawaii and its gorgeous pearl-in-the-sea, Honolulu. What a fine choice to travel there for a bit of RnR! Or are you handling some business affairs while you’re there? It doesn’t matter, because regardless of your end-goal, you’re most likely here to find a decent budget travel deal there. But before we plunge into looking for cheap flights to Honolulu, you should know what to expect when you get there:

The Honolulu International Airport is the main air transportation hub in the area, hosting both domestic and international flights but also acting as an infrastructure asset for the nearby military Hickam Air Force base. You might think of it as a small island airport, but HNL, as its airport code spells, is actually quite packed with amenities: ranging from roughly 30 crowd-favorite snack bars, coffee shops and restaurants to pretty much anything else you’d expect out of a large airport (flower shop, gift shops, game rooms, shoe shines, etc), the Honolulu International Airport has it all.

Truth is, even though there are plenty of connections to Hawaii in the United States, your best bet to get a cheap flight to Honolulu is from Los Angeles, the closest and most important airport you could fly from. Being a holiday destination, Honolulu ticket prices can suffer dramatic changes on a month to month basis. For example, whereas you could get a budget deal of around $300 from Los Angeles to Honolulu in January, expect to pay double that amount if you’re travelling in July-August.
