  • Top 5 hottest clubs in Los Angeles

One of the first things that come in mind when thinking of Los Angeles is Hollywood, of course, and the many celebrities who live and work here. When it comes to entertainment of all kinds, there’s no better place than LA. Hot weather, incredible beaches, all the shops you can dream of and a great cultural life too. But one of the strongest points of LA is its nightlife, which is on par with any  nightlife capital in the world. So here is what we consider the top 5 clubs in Los Angeles. Enjoy!

    The Derby

The Derby is a place with tradition, as it has been operating for over 20 years, and it has been the favorite haunt of quite a few celebrities. People who want to be seen, as well as people who want to see a star or two will definitely appreciate this popular club. The 30’s style atmosphere of The Derby is an interesting touch, and it reminds of Hollywood’s past glory days. Regardless of your musical tastes, you will be able to dance to a few tunes (the music varies from swing to pop, rock, goth and jazz), and surprisingly enough, the clubs is much less pretentious than it sounds.

    Circus Disco

If you are feeling like spending a wild night of non-stop dancing, you should definitely check out this huge clubs that can house almost 2000 people. The club has seven different rooms, a patio, a VIP lounge and a bungalow where you can rest your feet a bit. The music is provided by some of the best DJ’s in LA, and they cover lots of genres: salsa, techno, disco or hip hop. The menu is moderate, but the cover charge can be up to $20.

    The Mayan

If you like dancing salsa, then you can groove out as much as you want at the Mayan. This beautiful ex-theater was built in the 1920’s, so the architecture really matches the purpose of the place, and besides, the decorations feature decidedly Mayan themes. In addition to salsa music, there are regular merengue parties, and Latino rock bands. While sometimes the music leans more towards the regular club fare (techno, dance, house), you’re still expected to dress as fancily as you can.

    Ultra Suede

Ultra Suede is one of those clubs that welcome everybody, regardless of musical tastes, age or sexuality. Most of the patrons are 20 somethings, and the music genres that are usually played are really diverse: funk, R&B, rap and disco. The club looks quite modern in a funky way, and in addition to the dancefloor there is a spacious lounge where you can sip your drinks.

    Mood

Mood is another club where celebrities gather (followed by their fans), so understandably it is quite high class. You will have to queue in order to get in, and once you step foot into the club you will be assaulted with with more Balinese motifs and art than you can see in Bali itself. The usual music genres are rap, hip hop and R&B.
