Edina in Travel Planning | NO COMMENTSTop 5 most visited cities in the world
A seasoned traveler always looks for the least trodden path, off the beaten track, but it’s always better to visit the popular places too, and to have a sort of ‘traveler’s general knowledge’ about the most famous tourist attractions in the world.
The places that get the most visitors are sometimes overrated, but there’s always something beautiful and attractive at their core, so for the sake of that, it’s worth to trudge through the crowds and queue for hours sometimes. Well, if there still are some popular places that you haven’t managed to see yet, here’s a list of the top 5 most visited cities in the world – add some more to your have-seen list!
Paris, France
It’s official: the capital of love and romance it the most visited city on the planet, according to the number of incoming international visitors. Of course, there’s a lot to see in Paris, even if you don’t immediately flock to the popular attractions.
But things like the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower or Centre Pompidou really are like nothing else on the planet, and are more than worth visiting any time of the year.
London, UK
The shopping capital of Europe has much more than fancy shops and two-storied buses: the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, The British Museum to name a few of the more famous attractions are instant magnets for visitors of the British capital. But a stroll through London’s lesser known areas will reward you with a lot of hidden places – pubs, cafes, small museums or galleries.
New York City, USA
The Big Apple is the city of dreams, and not just the American one. New York is one of the most multicultural places on the planet, with an inimitable atmosphere.
Visit Manhattan and have a taste of the glamorous existence of the district’s residents, and take a trip to the more modest (but sometimes far more interesting) boroughs like Queens or Brooklyn.
Antalya, Turkey
As the largest city on the Mediterranean coast of a country that never has a shortage of visitors, Antalya is obviously a hotspot of tourism. Antalya has it all: pristine beaches, forest-covered mountains, and a bunch of ruins and historical sights, not to mention its exciting nightlife. The city’s old quarter and the archaeology museum are a must-see for any tourist.

The island-city is small, but so incredibly diverse and mysterious that you find yourself discovering new things about it on your every visit. As multicultural as they come, Singapore has an interesting blend of European and Asian influences, not only when it comes to culture, architecture and shopping, but also (and perhaps most importantly), its cuisine, which is amazing.
