    There are only a few months let until the end of 2010, and while it has been a good year for traveling, 2011 will be even better. And since we are are looking forward to a travel filled year, the best way to begin 2011 is to travel, of course.

    Experiencing the New Year in a new place is more exciting than simply staying at home, because you’re surrounded by places and people that you’ve never seen before. So if you want to step out of the mundane and celebrate the New Year in style, check out our top 10 New Years Eve Destinations in 2010.

    1. Las Vegas

    There are good reasons why Las Vegas is called Sin City – it offers all sorts of unorthodox entertainment. On New Years Eve, Las Vegas strip is for pedestrians only, and it becomes even more debauched than usually. Massive fireworks, throngs of people and  lots of fun.

    2. Paris

    Champs-Élysées is flooded by revelers from all around France on the night of New Years, and drinking good French liquor while looking at the lit frame of the Eiffel Tower is not a bad way to greet the upcoming year. Paris is definitely among the 10 Best New Year’s Eve Getaways by any standard.

    3. Bangkok

    If you want to spend New Years with friends in an authentic Thai fashion, go to Bangkok and visit Sanam Luang, just opposite the Grand Palace, where you will be greeted by traditional music, food and dance.

    London is the epicenter of international time-keeping, seeing as the Greenwich meridian passes right through it. So arguably, London is one of the best destination cities for the New Years. Besides, the fireworks at the London Eye are the best in the city.

    Tokyo is one of the best places to  celebrate New Years Eve. Shibuya is probably the  most elegant areas of Tokyo any time of the year, and at New Years it gets even better. Watch the countdown in front of the train station, then head out to one of the many bars in the area.

    If you want an unceremonious, rowdy New Years party, head to the Brandenburg Gate, where you’ll have all you need for a good time: music, light shows, beer stands, food stands and huge fireworks.

    7. New Orleans

    Mardi Gras is not the only holiday that New Orleanians know how to celebrate. If you spend your New Years Eve party on Frenchman Street, you will definitely not forget it too soon. Bohemian cafes, street performers, bands and lots of costumes.

    8. Sydney

    Sydney is among the first large cities in the world to celebrate the New Year, and it has pretty high standards. Sydney Harbour is turned into the Harbour of Light, a magnificent display of light and music.

    9. New York City

    If you’re wondering where to travel for New Years Eve, pick New York. Times Square is one of the best outdoor spots for a New Years celebration, which is why it’s one of the most famous events in the world.

    10. Rio de Janeiro

    How about spending the day before New Years Eve partying on the Copacabana Beach? You’ll have so much fun won’t even notice when the date changes.
