    Malmo

When you go traveling for more than a couple of days, it’s usually recommended to find a friend or neighbor that will water your plants and pick up your mail, and I’m sure it’s not that difficult to find volunteers. But if it’s Fluffy or Rover that you have to leave at home, and not a cactus, it might be more difficult to convince someone to take care of them.

And if you are reluctant to leave your pet alone while you’re off traveling, why not take them with you? Traveling with pets takes more planning and care than a regular trip would, but it can be plenty of fun too! Here are some of the best pet friendly travel destinations that you can explore together with your animal companion.

    Singapore

In many places, you will need to pay extra attention to where you take your dog, for example, because there are many strays or animals on the lose. In Singapore, it is a dog walker’s paradise.

There are lots of parks where you can walk your dogs without a leash, like in Bishan Park Dog Run, the largest leash-free dog park in the city. There are separate areas for small dogs and big dogs too.

    Stockholm, Sweden

While many hotels that allow pets will require you to pay some extra fees, in Stockholm you can find accommodation where you can have your dogs or cats stay with you for no additional charges. Grand Hotel Intercontinental, for example, allows two dogs of any size for free. Vasaparken, a dog-friendly park in Vasastaden is a great place for a walk.

    Carmel-by-the-Sea, California

With its stunning natural beauty, Carmel-by-the-Sea is one of the most popular tourist destinations in California, and one of the most pet-friendly as well. Carmel has a very large dog-friendly community, and dogs can run around and play on the beach without being held on a leash.

Carmel walking tour, a tour of artist and celebrity houses in the area, is also open to pet owners, who can take their animal friends with them. Also, in the city center there’s a dog-only drinking fountain.

    Kent, UK

If your dog likes the great outdoors, it will love Kent County. The beautiful countryside near the town of Tenterden, for exmaple, is great for a canine adventure, and if your are living in London for the duration of your holiday, you can travel to Kent by train and take your dog with you for an additional £1.00.

Two of the best historical attractions in Kent, Richborough Fort and the Towers at Reculver, allow you to take your dog with you on the tour.
