Disney cartoons are some of the most famous and beloved in the world, and their movies are not far behind. Something this magical and exciting couldn’t have lasted long without a theme park, and the first Disneyland park opened in 1955. Since then, Disneylands and Disney resorts have popped up all over the world where Disney has a fanbase, and although all of them have things in common, many of the theme parks come with their own quirks and unique features.
If you loved Disney as a kid, chances are that you will still love the park as an adult – so don’t be shy, age doesn’t matter when it comes to enjoying the magic of Disney! Here are some of the best Disneyland parks in the world.
Disneyland Paris, France
Whatever the French do, they do it while style and imagination, and Disneyland is no exception. The Parisian Disneyland, which opened in 1992, quickly became one of the best in the whole world. Although it took a while until people warmed up to it, now it is a hugely popular destination, and not only for the European Disney fans.
The park has ‘European’ and Disney Villages, frontier lands populated with cowboys, adventure lands where you can meet Robinson Crusoe, seven hotels and countless other features.
Disneyland, Anaheim, California
The original Disneyland is a must-see for any true Disney fan, after all this is where the phenomenon started. Other Disneylands in the world took after their predecessor in California, and this is where you can visit the first Magic Kingdom. The park has eight themed ‘lands’, Main Street (a charming early 20th century Midwest town similar to Walt Disney’s hometown), Indiana Jones and Tarzan adventures, and Disney princesses galore.
Disneyland Tokyo, Japan
The Tokyo Disneyland is the first Disneyland built outside the US, and many consider it the most beautiful Disneyland on the planet. The Tokyo version of the park is even bigger and fancier than it’s Californian counterpart, although it has a very similar layout and structure.
Of course, there are several Disney hotels around the park, plus a fun DisneySea sister theme park for those who like splashing around.
Hong Kong Disneyland
Seeing as this theme park is located in one of the most multicultural places on the planet, the Hong Kong Disneyland is pretty culture-embracing itself. The park’s creators have tried to incorporate Chinese culture and traditions into the park, so much that the layout respects the rules of Feng Shui! This Disneyland has tons of unique features with a Hong Kong flair.

Walt Disney World Resort is the single most visited theme park complex in the whole wold. The resort started out with the Magic Kingdom theme park in 1971, but since then another three parks were added: Disney’s Hollywood Studios (inspired by 30s and 40s Hollywood), Epcot (for culture and science geeks), and Disney’s Animal Kingdom (the first Disney theme park dedicated to animal conservation).
