Randy’s Donuts, Los Angeles
Los Angeles is one of those cities where you can find a donut at practically every street corner, which makes it all the more difficult to know where to find the tastiest ones. But when it comes to donuts in LA, Randy’s Donuts is downright legendary. You can’t miss the place, it has a huge donut on its roof. The buttermilk and crumb raised donuts are a great favorite with the locals.
Dynamo Donuts, San Francisco
When you see a bakery or coffee shop with dozens of people queuing outside its entrance, you can be sure that there’s something phenomenal sold there. Early in the morning, hungry crowds wait patiently in front of Dynamo Donuts in Mission District to get their morning coffee and their snack. You can choose from among creative donut flavors like lemon-Sichuan or apricot-cardamom.
Voodoo Doughnut, Portland
Voodoo donuts are works of art in the donut world, and not only are their flavor combinations unique, but their names as well. The absolute favorite is the Dirty Snowball, a delicious chocolate donut glazed with marshmallow, the Memphis Mafia (banana, peanut butter and chocolate chips), Diablos Rex (Chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate frosting, red sprinkles, vanilla pentagram and chocolate chips in the middle).
Walton’s Donuts, Denver
The only thing that this place’s customers complain about is the fact that it’s closed on Sunday, depriving them of their favorite raspberry or Bavarian cream donuts. The donuts come in pretty much traditional flavors, with vanilla or chocolate icing and a variety of sprinkles, but there are other donut-y treats to choose from: plain cake donuts, tigertails, bear claws, bowties, apple fritters.

Bouchon Bakery makes donuts only on weekends, which makes them all the more sought after. These donuts are larger then the average (they also cost more), they are light and fluffy with lots of filling. Try the raspberry – Bavarian custard combination, it will leave you craving for more.
