If you are a sci-fi buff, there are probably few things better than staying at a hotel that looks like something out of the 23th century, and even if science fiction is not your cup of tea, you might appreciate staying at a hotel that just looks…different.
Architects around the world have given into the temptation of creating buildings that stand out, and while some of them look a bit strange, they all offer top-notch services. Feeling like taking a trip to the future? Take a look at this list of the most futuristic hotels in the world. They are still in the concept phase, but hopefully they will be built soon.
Apeiron Island Hotel
Burj-al-Arab might not be the most stunning hotel in Dubai for long, because architects have been cooking up the plans for Apeiron, one of the most astounding island hotels in the world. Apeiron looks nothing if not futuristic: graceful, curving lines, its own lagoon, and dozens of restaurants, shops and beaches. If this hotel ever gets built, it won’t be affordable for everyone – it will have 7 stars!
This kind of luxury is not cheap, but you can save on your flight if you check out the cheapest flights Travelgrove users found recently for Dubai:

Foldable Hotel Pods
With these sci-fi pocket hotels, it will be like camping, only instead of huddling in a tent you will be able to enjoy all the luxuries of a five star hotel. The pods can be moved from anywhere to anywhere, and they will cater to the geek inside every traveler. They will come with automatic waste disposal (no more hiding in bushes!) and images that can be projected on the walls and floors.
Waterworld, China
This huge hotel with an award-winning concept will be fully integrated into to landscape, so much that from a distance you might not even see it’s there. It will come with its own waterfall, suites and public area located underwater, and a wealth of sporting facilities such as swimming pools, rock climbing and bungee jumping.
But if you cannot afford such a vacation, choose one from the below deals as part of your China getaway:
Sale Fares to Beijing – R/T Flight w/Tax from $775
Discount Air Fares to Hong Kong (R/T with Tax) from $795

Poseidon Undersea Resort, Fiji
This hotel opened for business a few years ago, and it is the proof that amazing concepts can indeed come to life. It is located in a pristine lagoon, and it’s enough to look out any window to feel like you’re becoming part of the underwater life.
You can learn to pilot a submarine, sip cocktails on a submarine, and well, sleep 40 feet underwater.

Hydropolis, just like its name says, will be like a city built half in the water, and half above.
